COMMUNITY STEWARDSHIP INITIATIVE
Let’s Take Care Of Where We Live.
We are forming a citizen-led group that we hope will eventually span the entire corridor.
With so many people living, working and recreating here — including visitors from around the world — we believe caring for these places cannot fall solely on elected officials and local governments.
As residents, businesses and community members, we also have a responsibility to be stewards of the land, wildlife and natural spaces that don’t necessarily have a voice.
WHY WE’RE DOING THIS
We all have a responsibility to be stewards of the land.
-
Garbage
We’re seeing more litter, overflowing bins and illegal dumping in our neighbourhoods, parks and trails.
-
Wildlife At Risk
Bears and other wildlife are being drawn into our neighbourhoods by garbage and other attractants.
-
We All Play A Role
Local governments have an important role to play - but we live here too! We can all help.
This initiative is a response to what we’re seeing around us. It’s time to work together to create solutions.
THE IDEA IS SIMPLE
When we each take responsibility for a small area, together we can care for a very large place.
Adopt a street. Clean a trail. Report a problem. Get your business involved, Join a clean-up. Share your knowledge. Every small action helps.
Lots of people taking care of a little.
