Understanding Your Emotions
Practicing presence is key to building awareness of your emotions, thoughts, and motivations, required to live an embodied and whole-hearted life.
When we repress feelings our emotions, they stayed trapped inside our bodies creating tension in our different parts of our bodies.
Feeling our emotions is uncomfortable, so we often choose to ignore them instead of sitting with them. Long-term, this can lead to an unhealthy build-up in the body.
Most people in society aren’t aware that their emotions are a guide to creating a whole-hearted life. Learning to tune into them is the first step toward not losing your sh*t on those around you.
Healing & Self-Compassion
We often learn as children not to feel our emotions so we learn at a very young age to harden our hearts in order to fit in and to please others. Softening our hearts if the first step to living a whole-hearted life.
Shame has one of the lowest frequencies as an emotion and can easily cause anyone to spiral without proper awareness of its impact on us. If you can, always confide in someone you trust when feeling shame.
If we don’t believe we deserve help, it’s impossible to feel truly good when we help others. Knowing that letting others help us is the key to learning how to do this authentically and also letting others see who you really are.
Mindfulness & Awareness
When you start your day focused on the news and negative content, it fills your mind and sets the tone for how you move through the day. What you give your attention to is shaping who you become. Choose wisely.
When we’re distracted, we lose our ability to be present. Presence allows us to observe our thoughts and cultivate the self-awareness required to live embodied in the world.
Understanding whether we make everything about ourselves is key to stepping into our individual power. We cannot live with grace if we aren’t fully emobodied in our power.
Being able to recognize how strong our emotions are is a skill we should all aim to master, as this is when we can choose whether to react to what’s taking place or simply process what the emotion is telling us.
